Originally the "Hunsberger" (Honsberger). They immigrated to Canada from Pennslyvania. Issac Honsberger emigrated to Upper Canada from PA in 1801. Issac built the first log house and stable on the land he purchased in 1812 in South Cayuga, Ontario. Issac raised a family of two sons, and four daughters. In 1850 Issac's eldest son Henry Honsberger built a 14 room brick house. All of the materials used came directly from the farm. 4 generations of Honsberger's lived on the land that Issac bought in 1812. In 1963, Wray Honsberger owned the house and made a family museum in one of the rooms.
